Ottis
(Slim) Whitman, vocalist, self-taught guitarist. While pursuing
baseball, learned to imitate Montana Slim and yodeler Jimmie Rodgers.
Meeting Colonel Tom Parker led to RCA recording contract, and
stage name Slim, his music has influenced Elvis Presley, Paul
McCartney Michael Jackson, with over 70 million records sold.
